Biography
Erin Kearns, Ph.D., is an expert in terrorism and targeted violence prevention, media, law enforcement, and public perception.
She is the head of prevention research initiatives the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NICTE) at UNO.
Her work has been featured in major news outlets, including CNN, The Economist, NPR, and The Washington Post. Using quantitative, qualitative, and experimental methods, her research explores why groups lie about terrorism, media coverage, and public views on counterterrorism.
Kearns is a National Strategic Research Institute Fellow and serves on editorial boards for several criminology journals.
