Campers in the University of Nebraska at 51ÉçÇø's (UNO) summer day camp were thrilled when a local non-profit organization brought exotic animals to campus.
Gretna-based Wildlife Encounters introduced the kids to roughly a half-dozen animals, including a boa constrictor, alligator and baby kangaroo - also known as a joey.
The visit came during the last session of this summer's Mav Kids Youth Program, which is celebrating its 20 anniversary this year.
The recreational camp is open to children who will be going into first grade, through age 12. Throughout the summer, campers enjoy a wide variety of activities including swimming, rock climbing, gym games, art projects and crafts.
