National Expert on Children to Speak at Upcoming Social Work Conference

OMAHA – A national expert on children will speak at the upcoming 48th Annual Midwest School Social Work Conference, being held at the University of Nebraska at 51ÉçÇø’s (UNO) Thursday, Oct. 1 and Friday, Oct. 2.

This year’s theme is “the Ever-changing Family.”

The conference is open to the public. Registration is required.

The event begins Thursday, with a series of break out sessions. Local and regional experts will discuss everything from gay marriage to grandparents’ parenting. A full list of sessions is available here: .

Then Friday, nationally renowned speaker and author Dr. Ross Greene will lead a full day presentation on the subject of his two books: The Explosive Child and Lost at School.

Dr. Greene specializes in the treatment of kids with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. His media appearances include the Oprah Show, Good Morning America and National Public Radio.

The conference is being planned by the (SSWAN) and is co-sponsored by UNO’s .

Registration is open through Wednesday, Sept. 30. The cost is $170 for the general public, with discounted pricing for full and associate SSWAN members. To register, click here: .
